Quote of the day

"I dread success. To have succeeded is to have finished one's business on earth, like the male spider, who is killed by the female the moment he has succeeded in his courtship. I like a state of continual becoming, with a goal in front and not behind."

Love thy neighbor

It's amazing when you can see past all the differences we may have with others. The truth is we are all one and nothing can ever separate us. Not quarrels, disagreements or even war.

Today let's focus on seeing past what someone else may have said or done to hurt you and realize they're only coming from a place of fear and insecurity.

Here and now it may be difficult to see the bigger picture however if we continue to try it may result in feeling freer than we've ever felt.

God Bless!

Time

What's your time worth? Really, think about what's worth your time? It's extremely important that one have a concept of what their time is worth because if not time can certainly go wasted.

Every moment of the day is filled with blessings. Either you're giving them or receiving them. Outside of that perhaps finding productive ways to spend your time can be extremely beneficial. However if you have things on a todo list that seemingly never get done it is time to prioritize and arrange your schedule properly.

Make every moment count because not a one can be relived!!

You can BE whatever!!

"Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you believe that you too can become great."-Mark Twain

I believe it's a pretty good guess that if you're an artist of any kind you've had to endure some type of criticism. Some send tiny jabs while others give deafening blows to knock the wind right out of your creations. What's likely is they have absolutely NO talent and feed off of downing another's attempt to soar.

Keep away from the haters and keep the haters away from you. YOU can accomplish any goal. Once you focus and put dedication into whatever it is that needs to get done to bring you closer to the desired outcome.

I believe in you!! Tell the haters kick rocks!

Life

Good am!

Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions. Proverbs 18:2

In this entertainment business it is wise to be humble. It is imperative that you are open but most of all that you learn to listen. If one expects to learn they must be ready to ask, listen and understand.

Often times one may hear something familiar and pounce at the opportunity to say all that they know. Perhaps what one knows is but a mere quarter of the info and interrupting could cause the other to not divulge the entire premise.

Everyone has something to share yet if the person they are willing to share with isn't open to receive with the eagerness to understand, all is a wash.

Let's take a seat back when wanting to learn and understand a subject matter that may help us on our journey.

Peace and love,
Lyte

Accomplishments

If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. Be sure to stay busy and plant a variety of crops, for you never know which will grow- perhaps they all will.
Ecclesiastes 11:4, 6

I chose to include the above mentioned scripture because it holds so true for me and what has allowed me to grow in the entertainment business. This premise alone has shaped my way of thinking and because of it I've defied any box created to stifle the growth of an artist.

When I made the decision that I wanted to be a voice over talent what I didn't want to do was show up thinking I knew it all. I had a step by step plan and I was open and ready to receive.

My eagerness spoke volumes to everyone around me that I chose to share my vision with. Through the process I learned you will not receive help if you do not share what it is you're after with others.

I shared my hopes of becoming a VO talent with a good friend of mine in 1997. He was generous enough to introduce me to his agent at one of the most prestigious voice over agencies. I immediately enrolled in a VO class preparing myself for the moment I would meet the entire agency.

I was completely ready when I signed on with CESD and there was no turning back. Of course I called and acknowledged my dear friend, Malcolm Jamal Warner, for assisting me with my mission.

Discover all of the things you love to do and never feel as if you can only accomplish ONE thing!

Get out and make it happen!!

Your sister,
Lyte

Farmer's Market

Good morning all!! I'm about to hit the local Farmer's Market and I'm already knowing to some of you this means absolutely nothing..lol..and that's ok. However, to some others the Farmer's Market represents a new lease on life simply because of the fresh fruits and vegetables that are available.

Usually at a Farmer's Market you will find organic fruits of all kinds and the same for green leafy veggies that are all grown locally. Organic meaning the "REAL" food had the opportunity to grow from a natural and fertile soil without the intrusion of pesticides and other creepy things used to kill insects. This natural process must be in place for 10 consecutive years in order for a farmer to claim his crop is in fact "100% ORGANIC".

Anyone who has made the choice to eat organically will tell you the taste is so much more appealing and quite frankly buying lettuce in a sealed bag really seems to defeat the purpose of eating what's good for you.

Although eating organically all of the time may not be financially realistic to some of us, we all can make better choices in what we intake that may actually result in having more energy and a generation that experiences less heart attacks.

Be well and treat your body better this year. You are what you eat is not to be taken lightly!
